Interior & Exterior

With all models except for the Base, the Ford Explorer can be equipped with a twin-panel moonroof that offers a great view of the sky while also letting in some additional sunlight. For added safety, the Explorer can be equipped with adaptive LED headlights that follow with the turn of the wheels to help improve visibility. To help you load cargo, the Explorer can be equipped with a power liftgate that can be opened and closed with a click of a button.

Inside, the Ford Explorer can be equipped with multicontour seats that have Active Motion with built-in massage themes for added comfort. You can fit up to seven passengers inside the Explorer and it can be equipped with PowerFold third-row seats to make it easier to expand the cargo space as needed.

Performance

The new Ford Explorer has options for three different engine options to choose from including a hybrid 3.3-liter V6 engine available on the Limited Hybrid and Platinum Hybrid. The base 2.3-liter EcoBoost® I4 Engine provides you with up to 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid engine is capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds and produces up to 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque on the roads of West Union.

Standard on all-new Explorer models is the side-wind stabilization feature can help keep you on the road when there's high winds. Depending on the configuration, the new Ford Explorer is capable of towing up to 5,600 pounds and it even has a Tow/Haul mode as part of the Terrain Management System to help manage the roads around Annapolis.

Technology & Features

The new Ford Explorer comes with the latest SYNC® 3 infotainment system with access to options for voice navigation, the latest traffic information and options to connect your compatible smartphone with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. The Explorer can be equipped with a large 10.1-inch portrait-orientated touchscreen that can be customized to what you need. Martinsville shoppers can even equip the Explorer with a Bang & Olufsen Sound System that comes with 12 speakers and a subwoofer.

Safety

The new Ford Explorer comes with safety features like the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert to let you know about vehicles in your blind spots. Cross-Traffic Alert can help alert you about vehicles when backing out of your driveway, as well. With the Pre-Collision Assist, the Explorer can scan the road ahead and warn you when it detects potential frontal collisions. It can even activate the brakes automatically as needed. Other safety features like the Lane-Keeping System can alert you when it detects that you're drifting from your lane by scanning the lane markings on the road ahead.
